[Mikleo is so glad he's taken a culinary arts minor, now. The baking in particular has been extremely helpful in getting to a point where he can make his baked goods look like art. Though, he will admit, drawing with icing is a very delicate and difficult thing to do.
Despite that, he's making some icing drawings for this year's Valentine's present to Sorey. Mikleo hasn't stopped doing this for his best friend since elementary school, and he doesn't see any reason to stop now.
The problem is that he wants to do better than last year's cherry blossom themed cookies. This means he wants to try something far more elaborate. Something more artistic, to show how he's gotten significantly better since then.
Hours later, he's cursing his ambition. Still...the cookies turn out to his immense satisfaction. Mikleo can only hope that his best friend agrees. He sets them out prettily on a plate and stretches, wincing as he feels and hears his joints cracking. Gods, his back aches, but it'll be worth it to see the look on Sorey's face.
Mikleo decides to wait for his best friend to get home by putting his dishes in the dishwasher and hand washing what shouldn't go in there.]

[Mikleo isn't "alright" by any stretch of the imagination. Not after having two of his really awful secrets blasted out to two people. He feels...sick. Like he's drowning in his own emotions. As grateful as he is for Minako and Ari's understanding, he needs to get away.
So, the second the brunet steps into the apartment, he puts his phone on silent and sets it on the nearest flat surface. Mikleo makes a beeline to his bedroom, knowing exactly what makes him feel safe in times like this. He crawls under his desk, close to the corner, and tries to make himself as small as possible. Memories of the fire keep flashing in his mind in fragments, and he feels a shadow of the terrible pain from the burns he got from it.
He curls up tighter. Maybe, with a little luck, he'll calm down by the time Sorey gets home. Mikleo doesn't want to burden his best friend with this, and...he also doesn't want to risk being unfair to him, too. Like the time when Sorey saw his scars....
His throat tightens at that memory. God, even after all this time, Mikleo still feels ashamed of that. His best friend's hurt look still haunts him.]

( Strange. Haven't people been talking about getting these? You'll find a delivery from Retrospec at your home, or at some place you often frequent. Thank you, says Retrospec. For all you do.
Inside the box there is a single feline plushie. Tied around its neck is a bit of ribbon with a note: ♥ From Yuri's Angels. There is nothing else. The box from Retrospec, the plush kitty, and that note.
Congratulations. You are the lucky mistaken recipient of a Yuri's Angel Cat Plush. What a wonderful day this must be!!! )

[Mikleo's an early riser, even on the weekend. It can be annoying since his body will never let him sleep in, but he lives with it. Besides, he likes making breakfast for Sorey and, occasionally, finding new ways to wow his boyfriend.
This morning, though....
He doesn't notice anything's wrong until after he showers. Mikleo's sitting down to brush his hair, and when he pulls it over his shoulder, it's not brown. The former-brunet frowns in confusion. It's now a blue so pale that it's almost white, and the ends are frosted with a somewhat darker aqua. It kind of reminds him of an aquamarine.
Mikleo looks at his mirror then down at his hair. Then it finally sinks into his brain and he pales.]
What the hell?!
[He sprints to Sorey's room, bursting in without preamble. Thankfully, Mikleo's got one of Sorey's shirts on, which goes about halfway down his thighs.]
Please, tell me you see brown and not some kind of two-tone color!
[He's trying really hard not to panic, but this is super unsettling.]

Okay two things.
One, I'm like 99% sure I found the perfect book for our club to read this month and I'm 100% sure you're going to love it.
[THAT'S THE EASY PART. He has no shame, he wildly embraces all of the worst that YA literature has to offer them...
But the part that's more difficult is trying not to sound totally insane next:]
Two, do you know if the library has metal detectors.

[Mikleo's been hard at work the past few months learning how to make Japanese food with Sorey's mom. He wants his skills with it to be perfect in time for his boyfriend's birthday, and, thankfully, that comes to fruition with her hard-won approval. Mikleo wants to show that his partner's culture is also important to him, and that he hasn't been neglecting that.
The fair-haired man's just finished the final touches on breakfast when it's about time to wake up his best friend. He's laid out some steamed rice, miso soup, two slices of simply seasoned, pan fried salmon, and kobachi. It's a little earlier than normal, but Mikleo wants to wake up his boyfriend in a kinder way than an alarm going off in his ear. He tiptoes into Sorey's room to turn off his alarm, and then makes his way over to the bed.]
Sorey. [His tone is quiet and a little singsong-y. Mikleo puts a gentle hand on the brunet's arm as he leans down to kiss his cheek, trying to keep himself from grinning. He's trying to keep a soft smile, damn it, but he's honestly keen on seeing Sorey's reaction.] C'mon, birthday boy, it's time to wake up. I made breakfast a little early.

[ Yato spots Sorey around town, doing whatever Sorey would be doing on a sunny Saturday afternoon. He's learning -- that while most people can't see him, his friends on Retrospec seem to be the only exceptions. So Yato lopes along until he's in Sorey's field of vision, leaning sideways for a view of Sorey's face so he can measure his reaction. Hope hangs suspended in Yato's chest. Can Sorey see...? ]
[Waking up that morning, Mikleo doesn't expect to get another appearance change. When he looks in the mirror after getting a shower, he spends a couple minutes staring at his reflection in the vanity. Finally, he sighs and calls out to his boyfriend, stepping out of the room to find him:]
Sorey? You mind coming here for a second? I need to know if my eyes look okay or if I'm getting some kind of weird infection.
[He might be mumbling under his breath as he puts his hair up in its usual ponytail.]

question for you
i'm guessing by now you've come to terms with what happened with that whole bokken training thing, right?
because i'm trying to put together some sort of training group for people on the network who keep getting sent weapons or remembering fighting and don't know what to do about it, that way they can learn to fight without stabbing themselves or someone else through
i need people who know how to use a sword that are safe enough not to hurt anyone to teach them. can i count on you?

[ After what happened at the Confectionery, Noah has no idea what to do. As much as he joked around and acted dramatic about his arm being some kind of "demon arm", having it actually go berserk like that and attack his friends....it was horrifying. He didn't fully understand why it happened, or if it could happen again...
What if it did happen again? What if it happened to someone who couldn't defend themselves? Its bad enough that the Confectionery was now wrecked, but what if next time is worse?
So instead of going home, once he was able to slip away from Minako and Ryoji, he...wandered. He didn't trust himself to go home, or to face his friends. What if it set off again? He tried to see if he could get a bus out of town -- but he had managed to leave his wallet back at the Confectionary with a bunch of his stuff. He even tried to call his dad, but the attending nurse said that he was sleeping.
Probably just as well. What would he even say to his dad right now?
It was getting pretty late in the night, and he still didn't have a clue what to do. He was tired, and he was so hungry. It was getting pretty clear that he was an idiot to run off on his own like this, without any money or plan. He should just call someone. But...
He could imagine Ari being so worried that he didn't come home, how was he going to explain? He didn't have it in him to deal with Dante's abrasiveness, nor did he he have in him to handle Prompto's emotionally charged fretting. Yu would be someone to call, but considering Ryoji was his friend too....God, it felt wrong to go and ask for help.
...
Well, there was one person he knew, that was always offering to help. He was relunctant, but what choice did he have?
The message comes pretty late in the evening.]

[Mikleo doesn't have a good night. His dream changes into a flashback, and one that he's very much not happy to receive.
There's fire everywhere. A woman's screaming at a man to save a baby, and he does. He dives into the flames and grabs the bundle, but his voice after looking at it... It's dangerous, like something has broken in him. He goes to the altar, the woman pleading for him not to do it when he pulls out a knife. The man plunges the knife into the baby and a great darkness spills forth.
It's the fire surrounding them that sticks with Mikleo. His eyes fly open and the first thing on his mind is that it's too hot. He needs to get out from under the covers. Mikleo struggles to get out of the bed, even though it means jostling Sorey. He's hugging himself with panicked eyes, trying to get his breathing under control.
But it's so hard when his vision feels like it's being taken up with flames.]

[Mikleo's gone back to their apartment to pack some supplies and finish some other stuff, per Intern Maurice's suggestion. While he's there, he sends a text to Sorey, since he's not sure if his fiance is home right now. ...Okay, maybe a few, since it goes a little long.]
Hey, my team just finished our objectives and we got contacted by an intern. He says our network connection could be spotty where we're going next, so I'm sending you a text right now to let you know what's going on. Also, I'm fine, so don't worry about me.
I might not be back at the apartment this week and I might not get to your texts/calls in a timely manner, but I'll try. I've made you a week's worth of dinners. Sorry, it was all I had time for. They can be eaten cold if you need to.
I can't stay too long, but I'll wait for you if you're almost home. If not, stay out of trouble, don't do anything reckless, and don't get yourself killed.
Love you. I miss you.

you still in one piece??
[He doesn't bother with an "are you alright", considering he's just assuming the answer to that is a "no" across the board.]

Sorey.
So, apparently, we're from the same world. I saw Zaveid in one of my memories and he says that himself and you are from the same world so, that means were are too. In fact, maybe you can explain something to me.
