[Once Sorey's left, Mikleo scurries off to his former bedroom to get all the supplies he hid in there in preparation for his gift. He brings out the litter box and sets it up, along with putting a little mat in front of it. A cat tree gets set up near the window; a basket goes under one of the end tables to store the cat toys when they have to vacuum; and he throws crinkly, colorful balls on the floor of their living room. Mikleo sets up a water bowl, dry food bowl, and a little plate for wet food on a mat in the kitchen.
All of that done, he takes a look at the clock and decides that he has just enough time to do one more thing before leaving to pick up their new kitten. Mikleo grabs a bag full of red rose petals and scatters them around the bed in their room, just to give Sorey a huge hint. He sighs, as he double-checks their room to make sure there's nothing that the new addition to the family can get into. Mikleo picks up a couple of pens that fell on the floor and opens up the nightstand drawer to put them away. That's...about when his eyes fall on a little velvet box. The pale-haired man stares at it, dumbfounded, and opens it just to make sure it's what he thinks it is.
Holy shit it's a ring. Mikleo doesn't take more than a second to look at it before shutting the lid and putting it back, blushing bright red. A lot of thoughts cross his mind, but the most important thing is a giddy feeling that threatens to make him do embarrassing things like jump in the air with a squeal. To calm himself down, Mikleo just...finishes clearing the floor and shuts the door to their bedroom.

[He shakes his head, grabs his keys, and goes to pick up their kitten. It takes about an hour, but he comes home with the cutest little calico-rag doll mix kitten. Mikleo coos at her as he brings her inside, and then sets her loose upon the apartment to explore to her heart's content. The older man sighs as he starts making dessert and preps for dinner. While he waits for some things to finish, he'll play with the kitten until she's completely worn out.
About five minutes before Sorey walks in the door, Mikleo makes sure to gently and carefully wrap a cute, blue bow around the kitten's neck. He scritches her ears, gives her a treat, and tells her she's a good girl when it's done.]
